As the sole, hands-on OpenView delivery consultant for HP Consulting & Integration’s seven-week Proof-of-Concept
demonstration for Cinergy, Inc., prepared a working, proof-of-concept demonstration, integrating multiple OpenView products,
including OpenView Operations for Windows, Internet Services, Performance Manager, Reporter, Transaction Analyzer into
Service Information Portal views for six of Cinergy’s mission critical applications.  Specific areas incorporated in the
demonstration included: developing Internet Services probes, identifying and proposing resolutions to system monitoring
deficiencies, developing and delivering knowledge transfer for extension of the Proof-of-Concept to other significant business
applications, configuring Service Maps to reflect outages and error conditions, tuning OVOW message policies to reduce
unnecessary message, and integrating the output from multiple Open/View applications into unique Service Information Portal
Views for five user classes.  The five Service Views included Help Desk, Service Operations Center, Operations Support and

For the Consulting and Integration Division, contributed to a team effort on the early phases of an OpenView product Proof-of-
Concept for General Motors.  Specific contributions included providing input for a needs analysis template for multiple OpenView
products, including: OpenView Operations for Windows, Network Node Manager, OpenView Performance Insight Manager,
Performance Manager, Internet Services, Service Information Portal, and Service Desk.  Created a test OpenView environment
integrating Network Node Manager, Internet Services, and Performance Manager into Service Information Portal.

For the Enterprise Framework Management Department, provided hands-on OpenView Operations for Windows (OVOW)
troubleshooting and production monitoring system enhancements for one of the largest commercial deployments of OVOW in the
world.   Diagnosed the causes and resolved problems associated with the reporting component of OVOW in the primary
production server monitoring environment.  Performed a detailed assessment of OpenView Performance Insight Manager in
comparison with OpenView Reporter.  Migrated OVOW’s reporting function from Reporter Lite on three OVOW production servers
to a single OpenView Reporter instance.  Created custom policies and rules in OVOW for capturing SNMP alarms and traps
generated by a Network Appliance NAS disk array and an enterprise-class Polycom videoconferencing device.  Identified the root
cause of a problem associated with a message transfer problem involving a virtual node in a Microsoft Windows-
MC/Serviceguard (HP-UX 11i) cluster environment.  Resolved major problems in OpenView Reporter’s discovery of 1300+ servers
in a very large, global network.  Prepared detailed problem resolution procedures for OVOW and Reporter implementations.  
Migrated internal computer security reports from Microsoft MOM to OpenView Operations for Windows using SQL coding and
Crystal Reports.  Integrated SNMP traps from an IBM AS/400 into OVOW using custom policies and Comtek MIBS. (April 2004 – Dec
