version of PeopleSoft v7.5. Additional requirement involved the creation of audit reports that provided accountability for
financial transactions and accounting entries.
• Identified material control weaknesses related to data access, segregation of duties, and auditability of transactions
flowing through heavily customized PeopleSoft Financials application. Resolved all material weaknesses through a
combination of delivered PeopleSoft workflow as well as developing a bolt on Security module to v7.5 PeopleSoft.
• Implemented a Role-based architecture on a PeopleSoft v7.5 platform to mirror functionality provided by v8.0. Roles
designed to mirror the organizational job functions. Design of Roles, assignment of permission to Roles, and assignment
of Operators to Roles accomplished through conducting design/review sessions with end user community. Inheritance of
permission through Roles a key requirement of Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
• Developed audit reports to document all logons to the PeopleSoft Oracle database including Operator id and time of
logon. Audited all data manipulation of application data by the use of Oracle SQL. Oracle audit required due to PeopleSoft
application security being bypassed through direct user logon to the Oracle database. All SQLs submitted at the database
level emailed to a distribution list with an audit trail including the Operator id, OS user id, and Machine IP address used to
manipulate data.
• Restructured Oracle security to better protect against direct access of PeopleSoft data by bypassing of Application
layer. Security included creation of synonyms, removal of database links, and inheritance of permission through roles.
• Architected a security plan to protect the Unix and NT file servers resident to PeopleSoft programs, reports, nVision
